After major gains in overseas markets, Systematic has now strengthened its position in Denmark, too.
With a seven-year contract, the Danish armed forces and Systematic continue to focus on soldiers’ safety.
Safety is a crucial concern when Danish soldiers take part in international operations. This is why Danish Defence – the Danish armed forces has recently decided to extend its cooperation with Systematic for a further seven years.
Using the SitaWare IT solution supplied by Systematic, soldiers are able to communicate quickly and easily via tablets and smartphones – even in areas where there isn’t any Internet access or mobile phone coverage. This makes it easier to establish an overview of hostile positions, as well as ensuring improved situational awareness and greater safety.
“Software that helps keep soldiers safe has been among Systematic core products for many years, and we are pleased that we’re continuing to take big steps in this field, both in Denmark and on an international scale. Situational awareness and safety are vital to any military unit, and at Systematic our ultimate goal is to deliver software that makes a positive difference for each individual,” explains Systematic CEO Michael Holm.
SitaWare also makes it possible to reduce the use of traditional navigation solutions such as maps and long explanations via radio – and there is better take-up for the use of digital solutions when soldiers and units communicate via their own radio networks.
According to Senior Engineer René Ulbjerg Toft, Business Area Manager in Danish Defence, the Danish armed forces is also looking forward to continued cooperation:
”SitaWare supports our desire to speed up decision-making processes in the so-called OODA loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act). In a combat situation, SitaWare also improves the soldier’s overview over the locations of their own forces and allies as well as of hostile combatants. This means a significant increase in overall safety and security. That’s why we’ve been in no doubt that we wanted to continue working with Systematic.”
Group Senior Vice President at Systematic Henrik Messell adds:
“We are very pleased and honoured that the Danish armed forces have chosen to continue their cooperation with us. Danish Defence is a knowledgeable working partner that helps us identify how and in which direction our products should evolve. This good working relationship will not only benefit Systematic and the Danish armed forces, but also the countries with which Danish Defence collaborates.“
